Internal Error: "(cmp) Fatal application error in Partitioner at 98%." (MAX PLUS® II version 9.3)

Environment

BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
Description You may get this internal error when re-compiling a design in the MAX PLUS II software that has had its pins back-annotated and is now being compiled with the Auto Device Selection enabled.

The internal error can be avoided by compiling for the device, which was the result of the previous compilation.
