Why am I unable to access submenus in the GUI for the Quartus II software version 10.0?

Environment

Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus® II software version 10.0, submenus may not be accessible when the application is attached to the main Quartus II window. Examples of this include:

  • In the Pin Planner, the submenu associated with Show on the View menu
  • In the Chip Planner, the submenu associated with Filter Selection on the Edit menu
  • In the SignalTap™ II Logic Analyzer, the submenu associated with Add Nodes with Plug-In on the Edit menu

To work around this problem, detach the application from the main Quartus II window by selecting Detach Window on the Window menu.

This problem is fixed beginning with the Quartus II software version 10.0 SP1.
