Fitter Error Occurs if Pin-Assignment TCL File Omitted During Compilation of MAX 10 EMIF IP

Critical Issue

Description

This problem affects MAX 10 EMIF.

An internal error occurs in the Quartus II Fitter, if you attempt to compile MAX 10 EMIF IP without sourcing the pin-assignment TCL file produced during IP generation. An error similar to the following error occurs:

Internal Error: Sub-system: VPR20KMAIN, File: /quartus/fitter/vpr20k/altera_arch_common/altera_arch_io_netlist_routines.c, Line: 620
Resolution

The workaround for this issue is to ensure that you source all TCL files—including the pin-assignment TCL file—when compiling MAX 10 EMIF IP.

This issue is fixed in version 15.0.
