Why do I get a Fatal Error when I try to open Help in the Quartus II software?

Environment

Description

You may get a fatal error when trying to open Help in the Quartus® II software versions 9.0 SP2 and earlier.

You can work around this problem by launching Help in the Microsoft Html Help browser (hh.exe). Run the following command from the Windows Command Prompt.

  •  hh <quartus dir>/common/help/quartus.chm

This problem is fixed beginning in the Quartus II software version 9.1.
