Critical Issue

Description

The SDI IP core does not insert the Ancillary Data Flag (ADF) data in the ancillary packets with the sync bits for 6G-SDI and 12G-SDI standards.

Based on specifications ST 2081-1 (6G-SDI) and ST 2082-1 (12G-SDI), the ADF data must be inserted with the sync bits to prevent long runs of 1\'s or 0\'s.

This issue may impact equipment that require the sync bits to be present in the 6G-SDI and 12G-SDI ancillary data streams. The TX core may not be compatible with these equipment. The RX core will not be able to decode the ancillary data for the 6G-SDI and 12G-SDI data streams that have sync bits.

This issue affects versions 15.0 and 15.1 of the SDI II IP core.

Resolution

To work around this issue, you need to encode or decode the ancillary data on your own.

This issue is fixed in version 15.1 Update 1 of the SDI II IP core.
