Why does the Power Delivery Network (PDN) tool version 2.0 provide different results compared to previous versions of the PDN tool?

Environment

BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
Description

In the Power Delivery Network (PDN) tool version 2.0, the initial parameters in the Stackup, BGA_Via tab, Plane_Cap tab, Cap_Mount tab and X2Y_Mount tab may be different from those in previous versions of the PDN tool.

These initial parameters may also be different from default values which are restored by the Restore Default button on each tab.

Hence, if you use the PDN tool version 2.0 and the previous version with initial parameters, the results  between them may be different.

Resolution

To workaround this, in the PDN tool version 2.0 set the same parameters on Stackup, BGA_Via tab, Plane_Cap tab, Cap_Mount tab and X2Y_Mount tab to the same as the previous version.

If you want to restore to the default parameters, use the Restore Default button on each tab.
