JESD204B IP Core Compilation Fails When You Upgrade IP Core from Quartus II Version 14.0 to 14.0.1

Environment

Critical Issue

Description

If you did not update the JESD204B IP core in your design, you may encounter compilation errors due to non-existence ports after the IP core is upgraded in Quartus II version 14.0.1 (from version 14.0). These errors are caused by changes in the JESD204B IP core port names in Quartus II version 14.0.1.

The Upgrade IP Components feature would typically display a message to inform user to update the IP core in their design when there is a change to the IP core. However, in this case, the Upgrade IP Components feature fails to display such message due to incorrect IP upgrade settings for this IP core.

Resolution

Update the port names of the JESD204B IP core in your design according to the Quartus II compilation error messages.

For the incorrect IP upgrade settings, a fix has been put in place but you still have to update the IP core in your design if you have upgraded or regenerated the IP core.
