How do I achieve the fastest possible setup time for MAX® 7000B designs in the Quartus® II and the MAX PLUS® II software?

Description MAX 7000B devices have a fast input register feature to achieve fast setup times. To take advantage of this feature the "Fast I/O" option (Individual Logic Options menu) in the MAX PLUS II software or the "Fast Input Register" option (Assignment Organizer) in the Quartus II software should be set to ON for the input pin of interest. This setting by itself gives the best setup time with zero hold time. For a faster setup time with positive hold, the "Increase Input Delay" option in the MAX PLUS II software must be set to OFF or the "Decrease Input Delay to Input Registers" must be set to ON in the Quartus II software.
