Why does the Windows Command Prompt remian open after the ModelSim-Altera window opens?

Description

Due to a problem in the ModelSim-Altera software version 6.6c, a Windows Command Prompt appears and remains open after launching the simulator.

To avoid this problem, on the Windows Start menu, click Run and enter the path to the Modelsim-Altera executable, <ModelSim-Altera installation point>\win32aloem\modelsim.

This problem is fixed beginning with the ModelSim-Altera software version 6.6d provided with the Altera Complete Design Suite version 10.1 SP1.
