The Quartus II software does not recognize a FLEXlm license server specification without an explicit port number

On the Windows platform, the Quartus® II software release version 12.0 and beyond does not recognize a FLEXlm license server specification that does not contain an explicit port number (for example, @mylicsrv). The Quartus II software reports that it cannot contact the license server and the server specification is ignored.

If your license server is not running on an explicit port number you can either:

• Modify the license server configuration to use an explicit port number; if you use port 27000 you can continue to use the @mylicserv format on Linux while using 27000@mylicserv on all Windows Quartus II software clients, or
• Determine what port was automatically selected by your license server (probably 27000 or 27001) and use that port number in your Windows Quartus II software clients.
