Arria 10 Hard IP for PCI Express IP Core Support for x2 Variants

Environment

    Quartus® II Subscription Edition
    PCI Express
BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT

Critical Issue

Description

The Arria 10 Hard IP for PCI Express user guides indicate that x2 support is generally unavailable. However, x2 support is available for almost all configurations. The exception is Gen3 x2. For Gen3 x2, you must use a 64-bit interface to the Application Layer and a 250 MHz clock. The Gen3 x2 configuration using a 128-bit interface to the Application Layer and a 125 MHz clock is unavailable in the current release.

Resolution

The Gen3 x2 configuration using a 128-bit interface to the Application Layer and a 125 MHz clock will be available in a future release. The user guides will be updated to reflect the correct availability of x2 variants in a future release.
