Why does The Altera SDK for Open Computing Language license does not get recognized?

Environment

    Quartus® II Subscription Edition
BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
Description

Due to a problem in the Altera SDK for OpenCL in Quartus® II software version 14.1 under Linux, licenses won\'t be recognised unless they are generated for the MAC address attached to eth0.

Resolution

To workaround this problem please re-generate your license using MAC address of eth0.

A patch is available to fix this problem for the Quartus II Software version 14.1:

This problem is scheduled be fixed for future version of the Quartus II Software.
