Possible Simulation Failure with Arria 10 Devices on Versions 14.1 and 14.1.1

Critical Issue

Description

This problem affects external memory interfaces for Arria 10 devices.

When simulating in the Quartus II software version 14.1 or 14.1.1, many Arria 10 devices apply an incorrect simulation model, resulting in simulation failure.

The following Arria 10 devices are the only ones applying the correct simulation model:

  • 10AX115N1F45E1LG
  • 10AX115S1F45I1SGES
  • 10AX115S1F45I1SGE2
Resolution

The workaround for this issue is to download the Quartus II software 14.1 Patch 0.22, which addresses this problem.

This issue is fixed in version 15.0.
