When using Remote Update in Arria® 10 devices, you can choose to boot from the factory image or an application image at power-up.
You can choose which of these images is loaded when generating an EPCQ-L programming file (.pof or .jic) with multiple pages in the Quartus II Convert Programming Files utility.
In this utility, once you have defined the input SOF files to convert for each page, click on the Options/Boot Info... button in the GUI. This will give you the ability to select which page is loaded at power-up when you generate the programming file. A pointer to the start address of the chosen boot image will be stored in address 0x0 in the EPCQ-L device.
Note that this feature is only available if the SOF files target Arria 10 ES2 or production devices.
