Description
Due to the problem in the Quartus® II software version 12.0 and later, you may see this fatal error when configuring a device using a time-limited SRAM Object File (.sof) with the SignalTap™ II Logic Analzyer.
Resolution
To work around this problem, configure your device using the Quartus II Programmer.
Alternatively, there is a patch to fix this problem in the Quartus II software version 12.0 SP2. Download and install patch 2.22 from the links below.

The problem is fixed beginning with the Quartus II software version 12.1.
