Why is the -reorganize option for Tcl command export_assignments not recognized by Quartus II Tcl Console?

Environment

Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus® II software versions 10.0 and later, executing the command export_assignments with the option -reorganize is not recognized in the Quartus II Tcl Console.

To work around this problem, perform the following steps:

  1. From the Windows or Linux command prompt, open a Quartus II shell using the command quartus_sh or other Quartus II command-line executable.
  2. Execute the command export_assignments -reorganize.

This problem is fixed beginning with the Quartus II software version 11.0.
