Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus® II block design/schematic editor, if you draw a line and press the Esc key before releasing the left mouse button, a visible non-functional wire is created. If you try delete the wire, you may see the above internal error.

Resolution

To avoid this problem, do not press the Esc key before releasing the left mouse button when drawing wires.

This problem is fixed beginning with the Quartus II software version 12.1.
