When Qsys Pro is enabled, upgrading IP components with the "Upgrade in Editor" button results in an internal error in Quartus Prime Pro Edition 16.0

Critical Issue

Description

When Qsys Pro (released as a beta feature in the Quartus Prime Pro Edition software version 16.0) is enabled, do not to use the Upgrade in Editor button within the Upgrade IP Components dialog box of the Quartus software. Modifying IP files when Qsys Pro is enabled may result in an internal error within the Quartus software.

Resolution

You can modify .qsys and .ip files by opening them from within Qsys Pro or double-clicking the files from the Project Navigator pane in the Quartus software.
