Critical Issue

Description

The DisplayPort specification requires the Blanking Start (BS) symbol to be inserted every 8,192 symbols when transmitting video idle pattern. However, the Altera DisplayPort TX core does not send the BS symbol for a period of 1 to 2 video frames while it still transmits video idle pattern, before transmitting normal video.

This issue may cause interoperability problems with certain devices.

Resolution

There is no workaround for this issue.

This issue is fixed in version 16.0 of the DisplayPort IP core.
