Error (175001): Could not place 1 IOPLL, which is within Altera IOPLL

Environment

    Quartus® II Subscription Edition
BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus® II software version 14.1 and earlier, you may see this fitter error when implementing differential clock input in Arria® 10 devices.

Resolution

To avoid this error, manually instantiate the differential buffer using the Altera GPIO Megafunction.  

This problem is scheduled to be fixed in a future release of the Quartus II software.
