How do I obtain the checksum of an Altera design?

Environment

BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
Description When you select a programming file, the MAX PLUS II Programmer automatically displays the checksum number in the Checksum box. Most third-party programmers display the checksum. However, if you cannot obtain the checksum with your programmer, download the Altera Stand-Alone Programmer (PL-ASAP2) for Windows 3.x, Windows 95, and Windows NT (any version). The programmer files are available as a self-extracting executable (ASAP2 version 9.6)or ASAP2 version 9.1 on the Altera FTP site (ftp.altera.com) in the /pub/misc directory. Follow the directions in in the read.me file to install the programmer. Once the Altera Stand-Alone Programmer is installed, perform the following steps to get the checksum: 1. Start the application by clicking the icon. 2. Open the Programmer (MAX PLUS II menu). 3. Select the programming file. The checksum will now be displayed.
