Are there any known issues with dynamic reconfiguration and offset cancellation features in Stratix ® IV GX?

Environment

  • Stratix® IV FPGAs
  • Stratix® IV GX FPGA
BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
Description
Yes, there are issues with dynamic reconfiguration and offset cancellation features in Quartus® II software version 9.0.

The following patches were created to fix dynamic reconfiguration issue when multiple ALTGX_RECONFIG instances are used in a design
Patch 0.19 for Quartus II software version 9.0
Issue fixed in Quartus II software version 9.0 Service Pack 1

The following patches were created to enable offset cancellation feature
Patch 0.43 for Quartus II software version 9.0
Patch 1.01 for Quartus II software version 9.0 Service Pack 1

However another issue was found with the patches provided to enable the offset cancellation feature. The dynamic reconfiguration feature using .mif files overwrites the settings written by offset cancellation IP during power up with the default settings in the .mif file

This affected patch 0.43 for Quartus® II software version 9.0 and patch 1.01 for Quartus II software version 9.0 Service Pack 1

The following updated patches include changes made to enable offset cancellation and fix the dynamic reconfiguration issue with multiple ALTGX_RECONFIG instances

Patches 0.19 and 0.43 are combined in patch 0.49 for Quartus II software version 9.0

Patch 1.01 is included in patch 1.12 for the Quartus II software version 9.0 Service Pack 1
