Description
Yes, Jam STAPL supports programming multiple-vendor IEEE Std. 1149.1 Joint Test Action Group (JTAG) chains. The advantage of using Jam STAPL is that it streamlines the production programming flow. Jam STAPL allows all the programming to be done by one software program, rather than using many different software tools.
There are two ways to generate a Jam File (.jam) for programming Lattice devices:
- If an ispLSI3256A device is going to be programmed, download the lat2jam utility from the Altera ftp site. The Lat2jam utility converts an ispLSI3256A JEDEC File (.jed) into a Jam File for use with the Jam Player.
- For any other Lattice device, download the svf2jam utility from the Jam website at http://www.jamisp.com. This utility converts the Serial Vector Format (.svf) Files into a Jam File for use with the Jam Player. The svf2jam utility also works for converting SVF Files to Jam Files from any other programmable logic device (PLD) vendors.
