Why do I get Old Data reported when the Read During Write in True-Dual-Port RAM is set to New Data?

Environment

  • Quartus® II Subscription Edition
    • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description Due to a problem in the Quartus® II software version 13.1 or later, you will get Old Data reported in the fitter report when Read During Write in True-Dual-Port RAM is set to New Data with NBE Read. This problem affects the Cyclone® IV device family.
    Resolution

    It is safe to ignore the report and users can perform post-fit simulation to confirm the setting is correct (New Data with NBE Read).

    To work around this problem, download and install patch 4.56 from the links below. You must install the Quartus II software version 13.1 Update 4 before installing this patch.

     This problem is scheduled be fixed in a future version of the Quartus II software.
