Why do I get Old Data reported when the Read During Write in True-Dual-Port RAM is set to New Data?

Due to a problem in the Quartus® II software version 13.1 or later, you will get Old Data reported in the fitter report when Read During Write in True-Dual-Port RAM is set to New Data with NBE Read. This problem affects the Cyclone® IV device family.

It is safe to ignore the report and you can perform a post-fit simulation to confirm the setting is correct (New Data with NBE Read).

To work around this problem, download and install patch 4.56 from the following links. You must install the Quartus II software version 13.1 Update 4 before installing these patches:

• Version 13.1 Update 4 patch 4.56 for Windows (.exe)
• Version 13.1 Update 4 patch 4.56 for Linux (.run)
• Readme for the Quartus II software version 13.1 Update 4 patch 4.56 (.txt)

 This problem is scheduled to be fixed in a future version of the Quartus software.
