User Logic Cannot Set the RapidIO II IO Error Response Error Detect Bit

Environment

    Quartus® II Subscription Edition
BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT

Critical Issue

Description

The RapidIO II IP core provides no support for user logic to set the IO error response field in bit [31] of the Logical/Transport Layer Error Detect CSR in the Error Management Extensions registers block. If the RapidIO II IP core includes an I/O Logical layer Slave module, the IP core sets this register bit when the I/O slave module detects an I/O error response. However, RapidIO II IP core variations that do not include an I/O Logical layer Slave module do not detect this situation internally. The RapidIO II IP core does not provide a dedicated input signal on which custom user logic can report this error situation.

Resolution

This issue has no workaround.

This issue is fixed in version 14.1 of the RapidIO II MegaCore function, with the addition of the io_error_response_set top-level input signal.
