RapidIO II IP Core Does Not Handle Unsupported Transactions Correctly

Environment

    Quartus® II Subscription Edition
BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT

Critical Issue

Description

If the Destination Operations CAR (offset 0x1C) indicates the RapidIO II IP core does not support a particular kind of operation, and the UNSUPPORT_TRAN_EN field (bit [22]) of the Logical/Transport Error Enable CSR at offset 0x30C has the value of 1, then all request packets of that type should cause the IP core to set the UNSUPPORT_TRAN bit (bit [22]) of the Logical/Transport Error Detect CSR at offset 0x308 and to capture the relevant information for potential processing through the Avalon-ST pass-through port. You set the value in the Destination Operations CAR from the RapidIO II parameter editor using the Destination operations CAR override parameter. However, the RapidIO II IP core does not assert the UNSUPPORT_TRAN register field when expected, and in addition, the relevant capture CSRs do not capture the appropriate information from these requests. Therefore, the IP core cannot process these transactions.

Resolution

This issue has no workaround.

This issue will be fixed in a future version of the RapidIO II IP core.
