Why does the PowerPlay Power Analyzer not report total current for VCCA_FPLL in Cyclone V devices?

Environment

  • Quartus® II Subscription Edition
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

The PowerPlay Power Analyzer report in the Quartus® II software up to version 12.1sp1 does not show a voltage supply for VCCA_FPLL in Cyclone® V devices.  This is a mistake with the voltage supply labels in the Current Drawn from Voltage Supplies Summary.  The current drawn from VCCA_FPLL is shown as VCCEH_GXB in this report.

VCCEH_GXB is not a valid power supply name for the Cyclone V device family.

    Resolution

Use the current values reported for VCCEH_GXB for your power estimation of VCCA_FPLL.

This issue is scheduled to be fixed in a future version of the Quartus II software.
