Can I power the HPS rails with a fixed voltage supply on SmartVID enabled Intel® Stratix® 10 FPGAs?

Environment

  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

Yes, the HPS on SmartVID enabled variants of Intel® Stratix® 10 FPGAs can be powered up with a fixed voltage. The VCCL_HPS and VCCPLLDIG_HPS voltage rails can be connected to a fixed supply of 0.9V or 0.94V.

The VCC and VCCP rails however must be connected to  a voltage regulator that supports SmartVID capability.

    Resolution

This information is scheduled to be added to a future release of the Intel Stratix 10 Device Datasheet.
