Intel® Desktop Processor order codes are typically either boxed order codes or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) order codes.
The boxed order code belongs to the retail or boxed processor product that comes with a processor, manual, sticker, and fan-heatsink. These products are sold in the channel and come with an Intel® three-year warranty. Intel provides technical support and warranty services for these processors.
The OEM order code, also known as the tray order code, refers to processors sold directly to large system manufacturers who integrate these processors in their PCs. The system manufacturers provide direct technical support and warranty services for these processors.
