Connect to Your Wireless Network Using Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility

Complete the following steps to connect to your wireless network using Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility:

Note First, you must install Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility. To install this feature, see how to customize installation.

 

  1. Open Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software using one of the following methods:
    • Select Start > Programs > Intel PROSet Wireless > WiFi Connection Utility
    • Double-click the taskbar icon Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility icon.

  2. Switch the wireless radio on, if not already broadcasting.
    • Wi-Fi networks within range of your Wi-Fi adapter are displayed in the Wi-Fi Networks area.

  3. Select a network and click Connect. If the network does not require security authentication, you are connected to the network.
    • If a security password is required, the utility displays a Connect to: <network name> window.

    • See more details on Wi-Fi security settings if:
      • You are connecting to the network for the first time, or
      • If the network security settings changed
  4. Enter your password and select OK. If you connect to the network, the utility creates a profile. The profile allows you to automatically connect to the network the next time you are in range.
