Intel® Hot Swap Expander Controller Firmware Update Error 005 for Intel® Server Boards
What am I seeing?
A firmware update may fail and display error 005.
How to fix it
Follow these steps:
- Disconnect the SAS cable.
- Confirm that the IPMB cable is connected properly between the first Intel® Hot Swap Expander Controller and the Intel® Server Board.
- Disconnect the hard drives.
- Remove any Intel® RAID Controller cards.
