How to Add an Additional SSH Public Key after Launching an IDC Instance?

Description

  • Added the additional SSH public key of the new user to the Intel® Developer Cloud (IDC) instance in the IDC Console.
  • Initiated SSH connection to the IDC instance by a new user.
  • Encountered error:
    Permission denied (publickey)
  • Encountered error:
    Ncat: TIMEOUT.
    kex_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host
    Connection closed by UNKNOWN port 65535

Resolution

  1. Add the additional SSH public key of the new user to the IDC instance in the IDC console.
  2. Enable the SSH public key (you should be able to view the key name in the Security tab below).
  3. Initiate SSH connection to the IDC instance with a user who has access.
  4. Add the additional SSH public key of the new user to the ~/.ssh/authorized_keys file.
  5. Initiate SSH connection to the IDC instance with the new user.
