Unable to Secure Shell (SSH) into Intel® Developer Cloud Instance

Summary

Verify the right SSH ED25519 or RSA 4096 Public Key saved in Profile

Description
  • Unable access my Scheduled access - Intel® Max Series GPU (PVC) on 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® processors - 1100 series (4x)
  • Saved ED25519 public key to the Intel® Developer Cloud profile page as described on setupsshkeys
  • Encountered the following error: uXXXXXX@idcbetabatch.eglb.intel.com: Permission denied (publickey).
Resolution

Method 1: SSH Keys were generated with the following command: 

Linux*/macOS*: 
ssh-keygen -o -a 100 -t ed25519 -f ~/.ssh/id_ed25519_idc -C "you@email.com"

Windows*:
mkdir %USERPROFILE%\.ssh
ssh-keygen -t ed25519 -f %USERPROFILE%\.ssh\id_ed25519_idc

  • Copy & Paste the following commmand to the terminal/command prompt to open your public key.

    Linux*/macOS*:
    vi ~/.ssh/id_ed25519_idc.pub

    Windows*:
    notepad %USERPROFILE%\.ssh\id_ed25519_idc.pub

 

Method 2: SSH Keys were generated with the following command: 

Linux*/macOS*:
ssh-keygen -t ed25519 -f ~/.ssh/id_rsa

Windows*:
mkdir %USERPROFILE%\.ssh
ssh-keygen -t ed25519 -f %USERPROFILE%\.ssh\id_rsa

  • Copy & Paste the following command to the terminal/command prompt to open your public key.

    Linux*/macOS*:
    vi ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub

    Windows*:
    notepad %USERPROFILE%\.ssh\id_rsa.pub

  • Verify that the same key is saved in Profile at SSH ED25519 or RSA 4096 Public Key area.
