Intel® Endpoint Management Assistant (Intel® EMA) Swarm Server Keeps Suspending

All supported versions of Microsoft server running all supported versions of Intel EMA

Description

Unable to prevent the Intel® EMA Swam server from suspending because system administrators are changing the Microsoft service account that EMA is running under for security reasons.

Resolution

EMA runs as Local System, which doesn’t have the proper permissions to the Intel® EMA SQL Database (DB).

The steps below grant the Local System proper permissions to the Intel® EMA SQL DB.   

  1. Open Microsoft SQL* Management Studio and add the correct object the hostname to the path below.
  2. Go to the Security folder
  3. Right-click over Login
  4. Select New Login

At the General tab  create a Login name

At the Server Roles tab, check the dbcreator option, keep the public option selected

  1. At the User Mapping tab, Check EMADatabase
  2. At the User Mapping tab, Database role membership section

Check the options:
db_datareader
db_datawriter
db_owner
public
