Can the Intel® Optane™ SSD P1600X Series Be Used as an “Intel Optane™ Memory” for Drive Acceleration?

Unable to find a reason why the Intel® Optane™ SSD P1600X Series cannot be used along with the Intel® Optane Memory and Storage Management application and the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) driver to accelerate a SATA HDD or SSD
Intel® Optane™ Memory products are designed to accelerate/cache SATA devices such as HDD or SSD in combination with the Intel® RST driver.
The Intel® Optane™ SSD P1600X Series is not an Intel® Optane™ Memory. It is a standalone SSD that uses Intel® Optane™ technology, designed to work the same way as any other PCIe* NVMe* SSD. It is not designed for acceleration as Intel® Optane™ Memory products are.
