Summary

The issue occurs when the edge node is unable to resolve director.smart-edge.com, causing a TRANSIENT_FAILURE connection error.

Description

The Edge Node Server is up and connects to the gateway but not the controller. Controller Node dashboard has no OMA or LTE IPSec icons.

The issue is caused by the edge node not being able to resolve director.smart-edge.com

Resolution

The issue is caused by a DNS Rebinding Protection being enabled on the router. When active, this protection causes the DNS resolver and forwarder to strip RFC 1918 private addresses from DNS responses. Once this is disabled, the problem was resolved.
