Steps to change Sleep Type support from Modern Standby to Legacy S3 Standby

Description

Intel® NUC shuts down and immediately restarts
BIOS update to the latest version did non solve the issue

Resolution

Start your PC in safe boot mode:

  1. While in Windows, press Windows key + r
  2. Run msconfig
  3. Choose the Boot tab
  4. Enable Safe Boot
  5. Reboot the system
  6. Enter BIOS while the system is restarting
  7. Open Advanced > Power > Secondary Power Settings > Sleep type support
  8. Change it to Legacy S3 Standby
  9. Press F10 and press Y to save the settings and exit to Windows
  10. Repeat steps 1, 2 and 3
  11. Uncheck Safe Boot
  12. Reboot your system
Additional information

Changing the Sleep Type support from Modern Standby to Legacy S3 Standby may require a system reinstall
Prepare a full image of your drive before starting this procedure
