Unable To Start Intel® 9th Gen NUC After Changing IGD (Integrated Graphics Device) Aperture Size and IGD Minimum Memory Setting

BIOS 0034 on the following Intel NUC Kits: NUC9VXQNX NUC9V7QNX NUC9i9QNX NUC9i7QNX BIOS 0036 on Intel NUC Kit NUC9i5QNX

Summary

Guidance when NUC does not boot after changing IGD Aperture Size and IGD Minimum Memory in BIOS on Intel NUC Kit with Intel 9th Generation Processors.

Description

After changing the IGD Aperture Size or IGD Minimum Memory in BIOS, Intel® NUC Gen 9 does not boot.

Customer may also encounter 3 blinks code as memory error but after testing the RAM there is no issue.

Resolution

Currently, there is no effective recovery method if the IGD Aperture Size or IGD Minimum Memory is changed in BIOS 0034 or 0036 on any Intel® NUC Kit with 9th Generation Intel® Core™ Processors. BIOS recovery with the Power Button Menu or the Yellow Jumper will not recover the system.

If your NUC does not boot after changing the IGD Aperture Size or IGD Minimum memory settings in BIOS, submit a support request.

Additional information

This issue does not occur with the BIOS 0056 or later.
