Process for fixing the bios update issues, as well as long boot and shutdown issues on NUC 11 Compute Element by using the power button or BIOS recovery switch BIOS update methods.
Intel® NUC 11 Compute Element CM11EB, in conjunction with carrier boards that have an older EC FW will experience the following signatures:
- F7 BIOS update failure (system will reboot without BIOS updating)
- Delay in boot up times
- System shutdown issues
- This issue can be fixed by updating your BIOS using the power button or BIOS security switch update methods. You'll need to update your BIOS to versions:
- EBTGL357.0045 or later for Intel® NUC Compute Element CM11EBi716W, CM11EBi58W, CM11EBi38W and CM11EBC4W. Download and install the BIOS
- EBTGLMIV.0045 or later for Intel® NUC Compute Element CM11EBv716W, CM11EBv58W. Download and install the bios. Download and install the BIOS
- The EC Firmware on an Intel® designed carrier board, chassis element, and assembly element need to be updated to 02.20.00 or later.
- The EC Firmware on a custom carrier board needs to reference FW code 1.3.2 or later. Consult with your system manufacturer if you are observing similar symptoms on an Intel® partner product.
