Display Won’t Wake From Sleep Using the Intel® NUC

Summary

What to do when the display attached to the NUC via HDMI goes to sleep and won't wake up.

Description
  • The display falls asleep and it may not be possible to wakeup the display, unless rebooting or shutting down the NUC
    • The NUC can be set to sleep or never sleep, it doesn't matter, you still can't wake up the display. 

Note

  • This issue can be intermittent and difficult to reproduce.
  • The issue may not be seen on all displays
  • The issue can occur with one or multiple displays connected, but the issue occurs only on the display(s) connected via HDMI
  • The Type C and/or DisplayPort outputs on the Intel® NUC do not have this issue
Resolution

Update the HDMI Firmware (FW). Choose the link for your Intel® NUC.
