Resolution
Before you continue reading
The Intel® Cache Acceleration Software (Intel® CAS) product has reached end of life. See more details in End-of-Life (EOL) Announcement for Intel® Cache Acceleration Software (Intel® CAS).

Intel® CAS Entry Edition for Windows* only supports Intel® SSDs. During installation, the installer checks the platform for an Intel® SSD, and if present, it will install. However, if the drives are in a RAID array the install does not see the Intel® drives (since they are hidden behind the volume) and fails.

In such scenarios, the correct way to install the Intel® CAS Entry Edition for Windows* is to follow these steps:

  1. Break the RAID (return to have 2 single Intel® SSDs), or plug in any single Intel® SSD.
  2. Install Intel® CAS Entry Edition for Windows* which should now pass the Intel® SSD check. Once the software is installed, there is no further check for Intel® SSDs.
  3. Re-create the RAID.
  4. Configure caching.
