An issue occurs when users update their systems. Those who currently have Intel® RST driver versions between 220.127.116.112 and 18.104.22.1683 installed will encounter an update compatibility hold when they update to Windows® 10 May 2019 Feature Update (Windows® 10, version 1903).
Error message reads: "Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST): The inbox storage driver iastora.sys doesn’t work on these systems and causes stability problems on Windows*. Check with your software/driver provider for an updated version that runs on this version of Windows."
Intel and Microsoft have found incompatibility issues with Intel® RST driver from version 22.214.171.1242 to 126.96.36.1993 and the Windows 10 May 2019 Update.
Users who have Intel® RST driver versions between 188.8.131.522 and 184.108.40.2063 installed on their systems should update their systems to Intel® RST driver version 220.127.116.110 and restart the installation process for the May 2019 Update.
Users can install the 18.104.22.1680 generic Intel® driver or refer to their system manufacturers for the drivers.
