Unable to See the Intel® Platform Trust Technology (Intel® PTT)/Trusted Platform Module (TPM 2.0) After BIOS Update

Environment

Windows 10* Enterprise BIOS updated using RY0375.bio file BitLocker enabled

BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
Summary

Process steps to re-enable Intel PTT/TPM 2.0 device after a BIOS update.

Description

After updating BIOS, Windows 10* Enterprise can no longer see the Intel® PTT/TPM 2.0 device.

Resolution

Re-enable Intel® Platform Trust Technology setting in the Intel BIOS settings. Then, once booted, BitLocker* should see the TPM again and allow BitLocker to resume from suspension.

Additional information

When manually installing the BIOS update using the 'RY0375.bio' file on a USB stick, the update disables Intel Platform Trust Technology (TPM 2.0) in the BIOS settings. If you have BitLocker enabled (and set to require TPM & PIN), after the BIOS update is completed and the system has booted, BitLocker will remain in the suspended state and not resume from suspension due to no TPM being visible.
