Unable to boot OS after removing Intel® Optane™ Memory Series

Environment

Intel® Optane™ Memory Series

windows1064bit

BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
Summary

When trying to enable the Intel® Optane™ Memory driver on a non-boot drive device that has failed and is no longer able to boot OS afterwards.

Description

Unable to boot OS after removing Intel Optane Driver after failing to enable on a non-boot drive device.

Resolution

Check if the SATA mode was changed to Intel RST premium.

If you installed the OS before trying to enable to Intel Optane Memory, it's most likely that the OS was installed in AHCI mode.  If that's the case, System wouldn't be able to boot if it's not in AHCI mode.

Changed SATA mode to AHCI and see if that fixes this issue.

Additional information

Intel Optane Memory Software has possibly changed the SATA mode.
