What are you seeing?

The following error displays when starting the Intel NUC:

Unsupported 1 Gb / 2 Gb density SODIMM(s) detected on SODIMM Slot 2. System instability or data loss possible. Please replace with SODIMMs with 4Gb or higher density. Continue (Y/N).

Why are you seeing it?

The memory modules you have installed use either 1 or 2 Gbit (gigabit) technology, also known as SDRAM density. The processor on these Intel NUC models support DDR3L memory modules with 4 Gbit or 8 Gbit technology.

How to fix it.

Install SODIMMs with a density of either 4 Gbit or 8 Gbit. See the table for diagrams of compatible and incompatible modules.
