How do I know if my computer has Intel® Ready Mode Technology? How do I open the application?

To find out if your computer has Intel® Ready Mode Technology, use the applicable Windows* search feature. You can also visit Intel® Ready Mode Technology for a list of supported systems.

Windows* 7

  1. Click Start.
  2. In the Search programs and files box, type “Intel Ready Mode Technology.”

Windows* 8.1

  1. Press the Windows icon on your keyboard to get to the Start menu.
  2. Begin typing Intel Ready Mode Technology; the search screen is automatically displayed on the right-hand side of your screen.

If your computer has Intel® Ready Mode Technology, it is displayed in the search results. To open, click the application name.

Does Intel® Ready Mode Technology prevent the computer from going into hibernation mode?

No. Intel® Ready Mode Technology does not prevent your computer from entering hibernation mode. Intel® Ready Mode Technology does prevent the system from entering sleep mode.

Does Intel® Ready Mode Technology change my OS power plan?

Intel® Ready Mode Technology temporarily changes the power plan to power saver mode when your computer transitions to the Intel® Ready Mode Technology state. On resume, your power plan is restored.

Do my applications stay up to date in Intel® Ready Mode Technology?

Yes. Intel® Ready Mode Technology does not suspend any applications and will not interfere with application updates.

Does my anti-virus scan continue during the Intel® Ready Mode Technology state and Do Not Disturb hours?

Yes. Intel® Ready Mode Technology does not interrupt updates or anti-virus scans.

How do I know if there are updates available for Intel® Ready Mode Technology?

If the Intel® Update Manager is installed, you are notified when updates are available. You can also go to your computer manufacturer website for available updates.

To see if Intel® Update Manager is installed, you can use the Windows* search feature.

Windows* 8 or 8.1

  1. Press the Windows icon on your keyboard to get to the Start menu.

What is the Do Not Disturb setting?

During the hours specified by the Do Not Disturb settings in the Intel® Ready Mode Technology application, the audio is muted. You do not get any audio notifications during the Do Not Disturb times.

In versions later than V1.1, you have the option of putting your computer to sleep during Do Not Disturb.

How do I disable Intel® Ready Mode Technology?

To disable the product, launch the application and change the Enable Intel® Ready Mode Technology setting to Off.

Does Intel® Ready Mode Technology work on my laptop or tablet?

No. Intel® Ready Mode Technology is only supported on desktop and All-in-One PCs.

Does Intel® Ready Mode Technology work when my computer is on battery power?

Intel® Ready Mode Technology V1.1 and later supports battery-powered Portable All-in-One PCs. Your computer goes to sleep or hibernates when it reaches a battery threshold configured by your computer manufacturer.

How do I mute the audio when the computer is in the Intel® Ready Mode Technology state?

Launch the Intel® Ready Mode Technology (Intel® RMT) application and change the Mute audio during Intel® RMT setting to On.

Why is my computer using more than 10 Watts when in the Intel® Ready Mode Technology state?

Power consumption can exceed 10 Watts, depending on the computer workload and open applications.

Am I able to hear Voice over IP calls, instant messages, and social networking posts, when in the Intel® Ready Mode Technology state?

Yes. As long as your audio setting is not muted, your applications with audio notifications will notify you of any new activity.

During the Do Not Disturb time, all audio notifications are muted.
