What can the Intel® Entry Storage System SS4000-E reset procedure do for me?
You can reset the storage system to use its original administrator user name (admin) and password (storage) by pressing the small, recessed reset button on the back of the storage system.1
Pressing this button also resets the storage system to its original network settings. If you previously configured the storage system to use a specific IP address, it now obtains its IP address from the DHCP server (if any). If you don’t have a DHCP server on the network, it uses its default IP address (192.168.0.101), subnet 255.255.255.0.
The system reset procedure doesn't delete RAID configuration or data on the hard disk drives.
How do I perform a system reset?
- Ensure that the system is powered on.
- Depress and hold the reset button on the back of the unit for three to five seconds.
The Intel® Entry Storage System SS4000-E restarts to complete the system reset procedure. The system is inaccessible during this time. When the restart and reset are complete, you are redirected to the logon page indicating the completion of the reset procedure.
Log on using the default user name (admin) and password (storage). You can change the Administrator logon from the defaults under the Advanced tab, System selection.
