System Memory for the Intel® Desktop Board D865GLC
System memory features
The Intel® Desktop Board D865GLC has four DIMM sockets and supports the following memory features:
- 2.6V (only) 184-pin DDR SDRAM DIMMs with gold-plated contacts
- Unbuffered, single-sided, or double-sided DIMMs with the following restriction: Double-sided DIMMs with x16 organization are not supported
- 4 GB maximum total system memory
- Minimum total system memory: 64 MB
- Non-ECC DIMMs
- Serial presence detect
- DDR400, DDR333, and DDR266 SDRAM DIMMs

System bus and memory speeds
The Intel® Desktop Board D865GLC supported three system bus speeds and memory speeds. Not all system memory speeds are supported at all system bus speeds. The table below is a list of available system bus speeds and capable memory speeds.

1 To minimize system latencies and optimize system performance 333 MHz DDR memory is clocked at 320 MHz when using an Intel® Processor with an 800 MHz system bus speed.
2 To minimize system latencies and optimize system performance 400 MHz DDR memory is clocked at 333 MHz when using an Intel Processor with a 533 MHz system bus speed.
3 To minimize system latencies and optimize system performance 333 MHz DDR memory is clocked at 266 MHz when using an Intel Processor with a 400 MHz system bus speed.
4 To minimize system latencies and optimize system performance 400 MHz DDR memory is clocked at 266 MHz when using an Intel Processor with a 400 MHz system bus speed.
Tested memory
Intel offers the advanced environmental test procedures, test software, and necessary hardware to an independent test lab to do advanced testing as requested by the memory vendors.
Memory is tested by Computer Memory Test Labs (CMTL*).
Internal tested memory
Intel has a limited amount of memory tested for the desktop board. These part numbers might not be readily available throughout the product life cycle.
