System memory features
The Intel® Desktop Board D865GBF has four DIMM sockets and supports the following memory features:

• 2.6V (only) 184-pin DDR SDRAM DIMMs with gold-plated contacts
• Unbuffered, single-sided or double-sided DIMMs with the following restriction: Double-sided DIMMs with x16 organization are not supported.
• 4 GB maximum total system memory
• Minimum total system memory: 64 MB
• Non-ECC DIMMs
• Serial presence detect
• DDR400, DDR333, and DDR266 SDRAM DIMMs

System bus and memory speeds
The Intel® Desktop Board D865GBF supports three system bus speeds and three memory speeds. Not all system memory speeds are supported at all system bus speeds. The table below is a list of available system bus and memory speeds.

¹ To minimize system latencies and optimize system performance 333 MHz DDR memory is clocked at 320 MHz when using an Intel® processor with an 800 MHz system bus speed.

² To minimize system latencies and optimize system performance 400 MHz DDR memory is clocked at 333 MHz when using an Intel processor with a 533 MHz system bus speed.

³ To minimize system latencies and optimize system performance 333 MHz DDR memory is clocked at 266 MHz when using an Intel processor with a 400 MHz system bus speed.

⁴ To minimize system latencies and optimize system performance 400 MHz DDR memory is clocked at 266 MHz when using an Intel processor with a 400 MHz system bus speed.

Intel has a limited amount of memory tested for the desktop board. These part numbers might not be readily available throughout the product life cycle.
