Instructions for ISO Image BIOS Update for Intel® Desktop Boards
Note All BIOS updates for Intel® Desktop Boards were removed from Download Center on November 22, 2019. The following BIOS update instructions will remain available for historical purposes. |
The ISO Image BIOS Update allows you to update the system's BIOS regardless of the operating system installed on the computer hard drive. Removal of the BIOS configuration jumper is not needed.
This process requires a blank CD-R, a read/writable CD drive, and software capable of uncompressing and writing the ISO image to CD. The image uses ISOLINUX* Bootloader and automatically launches a script to upgrade the BIOS of the board via the iFlash utility.
-
Download and save the ISO Image BIOS Update file.
-
Using software capable of uncompressing and writing an ISO image to a CD, burn the data to a blank CD. Copying the ISO image file to a CD does not work; the completed CD should have multiple files and a directory.
-
Insert the CD created from the ISO image in the previous step into the CD-ROM drive of the computer being upgraded and boot the computer.
-
Press ENTER when prompted to start the BIOS update process.
-
Press any key at the Welcome screen.
-
When prompted, remove the CD from the CD-ROM drive and press Enter.
-
During the update, see the BIOS update process status window.
